The City of Hartford, Connecticut has agreed to settle a class action on behalf of tenants in the city who were forced to move because their buildings were condemned as part of a City Housing Code enforcement.

This settlement resolves a lawsuit against Steven Croman and his associated real estate companies brought by the New York Attorney General’s Office because of actions against rent-controlled and rent-stabilized tenants.

Harcourt Hotel, San Francisco

The Harcourt Hotel is settling a class action alleging that it forced tenants to move, change rooms, or check out and reregister in order to prevent them from obtaining tenants’ rights. In addition, the lawsuit claimed that tenants should have been pair relocation fees when they were forced to move or change rooms.
