Makers of Korean noodles are involved in antitrust cases alleging that the companies conspired to fix or raise the price of the noodles in the US. The noodles at issue are instant noodle soup products that include dried instant noodles, a seasoning packet, and dehydrated vegetables in a bag, cup, or bowl. One company, Samyang Foods Co., Ltd., has now agreed to a settlement with two classes. The non-settling defendants include Nongshim Co., Ltd., Nongshim America Inc., Ottogi Co. Ltd., Ottogi America, Inc., and Korea Yakult Co., Ltd. Benefits from this Samyang settlement will be distributed only to the Direct Purchaser Class. No funds will be distributed to the Indirect Purchasers Class because it likely includes millions of class members but has only a small settlement fund.
