Case Summary:

The City of Hartford, Connecticut has agreed to settle a class action on behalf of tenants in the city who were forced to move because their buildings were condemned as part of a City Housing Code enforcement. Individuals displaced in this way are “displaced persons” under the Uniform Relocation Assistance Act (URAA) and are entitled to receive certain benefits and payments under the URAA, but the complaint contended that the city had not been living up to its obligations.
