Airline TIckets

Air New Zealand Plane in Flight

In an ongoing class action, four more airlines have agreed to settle a class action alleging antitrust violations. The airlines are Air New Zealand Limited, China Airlines, Ltd., EVA Airways Corporation, and Philippine Airlines, Inc. The complaint alleges that the airlines conspired to fix prices for travel originating in the US and going to Asia and Oceania.

Executive Club Card

British Airways is settling with members of its Executive Club who brought a class action alleging that when frequent fliers took reward flights, the airline charged them fuel surcharges that were not reasonably related to the price of fuel.

This lawsuit centers on the question of whether airline executives violated federal antitrust laws by colluding to maintain “capacity discipline” - which means limiting the number of flights and seats despite increased demand and lower costs.
